Human societies depend fundamentally on cooperation, empathy, and the ability to understand others. Yet the neural mechanisms that make these behaviors possible remain poorly understood.
Our lab studies how brains coordinate social behavior across individuals, with the goal of uncovering fundamental principles of social intelligence. We hope these discoveries will deepen our understanding of psychiatric disorders and social dysfunction, while also helping guide the development of future AI systems capable of interacting safely and constructively with humans.
Scientific discovery depends on the freedom to pursue ambitious ideas. We are grateful for the support that enables this work and for everyone who shares our belief that understanding social intelligence is among the defining scientific challenges of our time.
